She's a perfectionist in her work and a consummate professional, and I was amazed as I watched her tweak and fine-tune aspects of her performance which would seem irrelevant or invisible to a general audience. However, the quality of the end result was such that Meryl Streep went backstage after that evening's show to compliment Lily, genuinely and enthusiastically, on her work.
